PISA. In the ten years of the its long "illness", the Leaning Tower has been visited by many VIP's, well known faces, political, star Italian and foreign entertainers. With the passage of the years a variety of ministers of Public Works and of the Cultural Good have rotated to its bedside (including the last holders of the ministries, Nerio Nesi and Giovanna Melandri), along with the president of the counsel Massimo d'Alema, and a recent visit by the President of the Republic Carlo Azeglio Ciampi.

The fate of the bell tower of Bonanno has also attracted the attention of the English Prime Minister Tony Blair. Many of the characters of the world of entertainment have also visited. Of all we note the "divine" Carla Fracci who has been a guest of honor and "matron" to the symbolic reopening of the Tower last June. Symbolic, since the visit up to the second floor was granted only to 70 students.

Visitors have also been more attentive to the problems of the plaza, certainly, those who have chosen Pisa as a tourist destination and who, in 2000, have been 12% more in numbers than in 1999.
