PISA. While it is by now certain, for less robust developments, that the Bocelli concert for the reopening of the Tower will occur June 17 at San Rossore, the mayor has publicized the text that he has sent the minister of the Cultural Good, Giovanna Melandri. "Given that all the approaches to your office up to now do not allow the hope for a dispensation to the Ronchey decree, even for exceptional and extraordinary purposes, to allow the carrying out of our initiative," the mayor writes, "I believe that the demand to modify the decree must be taken into consideration. On the other hand it is difficult in an ongoing contest to justly finalize the safeguard and the guardianship of environmental and architectural benefit for the plaza, to abdicate preventively and fairly each possibility to hold initiatives, there may indeed be times for the promotion and the honor of the Pisan monuments, and that constitute a good for humanity. For this puropose, I ask you to act quickly and to intervene on the text of the ministerial decree of March 15 1994 to effect the necessary changes to make the prohibition less rigid on these demonstrations, at the same time safeguarding the principles and the objectives that have inspired the decree".
