PISA. Tourism is growing in Pisa. Here is the data presented by the Director of the Center Tourist Studies of Firenze, Alexander Tortelli. Pisa, in the space of ten years, has seen a growth of 83%; positive data for visits as, contrary to the tendency, they are staying longer. The "bite and run away" problem still remains for Pisa. In fact 5 million tourists that visit the Tower but their economic impact on the city is only a tenth as strong as their numbers suggest. The Hotel capacity is still low (1827 beds). Finally the word on St. Rossore is that this year brings more than 30,000 visitors. |
